FAQs

Blue color comes from boron atoms introduced right during proper HPHT growth. Boron easily replaces carbon straight inside the crystal lattice. This is creating one proper Type IIb diamond that absorbs red and yellow light, naturally producing proper blue only.

Fancy Blue has visible, moderate blue saturation. But Fancy Vivid Blue is the absolute highest intensity grade, easily showing the deepest, most saturated blue across all viewing conditions and different lighting environments today.

Vivid blue has pure blue saturation with zero modifiers only. Greyish blue has a simple grey secondary tone. Greenish blue always carries a green modifier. IGI easily grades every single hue and modifier completely separately on the exact certificate.

Yes, 100%. Boron-doped Type IIb diamonds are electrical semiconductors, totally unlike all other diamond types. This exact conductivity is fully measurable and easily causes normal standard diamond testers to give false moissanite readings only.

Blue nuance is just one very subtle boron-related tint coming in otherwise colorless HPHT diamonds. But fancy blue diamonds are intentionally grown using exact controlled boron levels to easily produce one very consistent, graded blue color throughout the diamond.

Both are Type IIb boron-doped diamonds with identical chemical properties. The Hope Diamond is 45.52 carats. But lab-grown blue diamonds totally deliver the exact same physical characteristics at very much commercially accessible prices today.
